  • July 3rd marks the start of principal photography for Murdoch Mysteries season two. 13 Epsiodes will be in production from July to November for broadcast in early in 2009. The same team is back and the show is a CITY TV/UKTV/Shaftesbury Films/Granada International production. Maureen is again the creative consultant for the series.
  • May 1st - Murdoch Mysteries author Maureen Jennings is among the nominees for the 25th annual Arthur Ellis Award celebrating excellence in crime writing. Jennings was recognized for A Journeyman to Grief. Jennings is also nominated in the best short story category for "Wreckwood," which appeared in the anthology Blood on the Holly.
  • April 22, 2008 – Toronto, Canada – Shaftesbury Films is thrilled to announce its one-hour drama series Murdoch Mysteries has been renewed for a second season by Citytv. Starring Yannick Bisson as Detective William Murdoch, this Victorian era crime investigation series increased its audience by 70 per cent throughout the first season; a testament to its growing popularity with viewers.

  • Shaftesbury Films is now developing "The K Handshape" into a full fledged 13 episode television series. The novel along with "Does Your Mother Know?" will form the basis for the pilot episodes of a 13 hour series featuring Christine Morris, Forensic Profiler. The series was optioned by Shaftesbury at the beginning of 2007.

 

  • Maureen has started research on a brand new project (novel) which will be set during WWll in the rural part of England. The story will be more of a crime/thriller and will of course have her trademark style that has wowed thousands of fans for her two other series. Stay tuned for updates on this new and exciting project.
